Blue Skys start with Gunlakeโ€™s BlueStar Concrete

BlueStar is a range of concrete mix designs that have less embodied carbon than traditional concrete. Each mix is designed with the customersโ€™ needs in mind to achieve environmental, specification and workability requirements.

Gunlake Concrete can offer customers the option to offset their remaining embodied carbon emissions with Climate Active approved offsets. Customers can choose which carbon abatement projects they want to support, from reforestation in Australia to solar lighting in Zambia.

BlueStar is a range of concrete mixes that have lower embodied CO2. By using BlueStar, you will reduce your embodied carbon emissions from 30% to 60% or more. BlueStar zero will take your projectโ€™s concrete to 100% carbon neutrality.

BlueStar maximises the use of waste materials such as fly-ash from power stations and blast furnace slag from steel making. We are helping the circular economy and reducing our carbon footprint at the same time.

After water, concrete is the second most-used material on earth. Cement production releases around 6% of the worldโ€™s greenhouse gasses. By reducing or eliminating the cement content in concrete we can reduce the embodied carbon in concrete elements.
