Sam brings a broad operational background and strong leadership experience to his role as Quarry Manager at Gunlake. He began his career in the theme park industry, spending eight years across operational, compliance, safety, and maintenance functions, before finishing as an Operations Manager responsible for complex daily operations and strict regulatory standards.

Sam joined Gunlake in 2017 as a Fixed Plant Operator and quickly progressed through roles including Fixed Plant Leading Hand and Manager of the Fixed Plant Maintenance Team. His technical expertise, hands-on leadership style, and commitment to operational excellence led to his appointment as Quarry Manager.

A long-term local with family ties to the region spanning more than 50 years, Sam has a deep connection to the community and a strong understanding of the local area. He remains focused on safety, performance, and developing strong teams, supporting Gunlake’s ongoing growth and long-term success.
