Sales Team - Concrete

    Matt has over 10 years’ experience within the Transport and Sales sectors. Matt started his career driving trucks at a young age and progressed on as an allocator at a large waste management company. From there Matt took on a managerial role at Kings Transport, and also for Holcim concrete, where he managed the Allocations and Call centre teams for Sydney and the ACT, before moving onto a sales role. Matt Joined Gunlake Concrete in 2019 as a Key Account Manager and is now managing some of Gunlake’s largest accounts.

    John’s top priority in his role is ensuring customers receive the highest level of service whilst still balancing the needs of the business. He brings over 15 years of sales and business development experience to the team at Gunlake and enjoys managing customers, projects and relationships. John graduated with a Business Degree from UTS and has worked across a range of industries with leading organisations including Oliver Footwear, Brambles-CHEP, Hanson Concrete and Coates Hire. John’s genuine commitment and care, coupled with his effective communication skills, results in him having extremely strong relationships and inspires him to utilise new processes and technologies to consistently exceed expectations.

    George has been working within the concrete industry for over 30 years. He holds a Diploma in General Mechanic’s and first-class Machinist (Technical College - North Lebanon). George began his career with the Portland Cement Company in North Lebanon (Currently owned by Holcim), as Production and Operation’s manager with BHP Steel. He then went on to TNT, Visy Board, Rheem Australia (Operations/Production Manager and sales), and in 2003 until 2017 George worked at Hanson Concrete as their Major Accounts Manager. George joined Gunlake Concrete in 2017 as their Senior Accounts Manager.

    George has completed numerous management, leadership and industry related courses and is proud to focus his future at Gunlake, a company with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction along with excellent service and world-class, quality concrete.




Key Managers - Concrete

  • Alex has 10 years’ experience within the transport industry. Having studied Logistics, Trainer and Assessor, Driving Operations and Enterprise Bargaining he has been able to progress into supervisor and managerial roles at some of Australia’s leading pre-mixed concrete companies before moving across to Gunlake in 2021. Alex has the passion and expertise to help Gunlake achieve a safe and sustainable future whilst providing a high level of customer service to clients.

  • Mat is a Safety professional who holds a Master’s Degree (WHS), from UOW. Mat has worked in a variety of industries including Construction, Horticulture Manufacturing, and Mining for over 20 years. Prior to joining the Gunlake team Mat held National Safety roles with Rocla and Fletcher Insulation. Mat is a leader who is people focused and driven to deliver better safety performance for the Gunlake Group.

  • Ryan began his career driving a concrete truck in the early 2000s. He has since progressed up the ranks within the industry. His experience has given Ryan a vast knowledge of all aspects of the concrete industry which help with the day-to-day coordination as Allocations Manager. Ryan aims to provide the best service for Gunlake’s customers as well as encouraging and supporting the entire Gunlake team.

  • Shane began his career as an Agitator Driver in the early 90’s and has over 20 years’ experience working within the concrete industry. Shane then moved into a Batching role running various plants across Sydney with Hymix Concrete. While progressing his career in the Hanson/Hymix organisation Shane then went on to complete an internal Frontline management programme which saw him move into a Plant Managers role. Shane joined Gunlake Concrete in 2010. Shane played a major role in the commissioning of Gunlake’s Glendenning plant, which he ran for around a year before moving into a management role within the Gunlake Transport team.

    Paul has over 30 years’ experience in ready-mix concrete operations and sales. Paul began his career in the industry in the late 80’s with South Coast Pre-mix, a small independent concrete manufacturer in the Illawarra, driving concrete agitators, batching & allocations. Paul also worked with CSR Readymix in the 1990’s during the Sydney Olympics boom. Paul then progressed into Concrete batch plant Management & Sales roles with Hy-tec before joining Gunlake Concrete in 2015 with a dual role in Sales & Plant Management. Paul has extensive knowledge and experience in many facets of the Concrete industry including batch plant operations and processes, sales & a strong technical background of concrete mixes.

    Charlie brings over 10 years of sales and entrepreneurial experience to his role as Plant Manager. After joining Gunlake as an agitator driver Charlie has progressed within the organisation from sales to operations and he now manages one of our key North-western plants. With a rich family tradition of concrete placing behind him, Charlie has a keen passion for our industry and strives for constant improvements and excellence.

    Cody has worked in the concrete industry for over 12 years, and is the 4th generation to work within the Cement and Concrete Industry, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience. He began his career as a concreter and then moved up the ranks as an Agi driver, Yardsman, Batcher Allocator, Sales Rep and Plant Manager, Cody is now the Area Manager for South West Sydney, and takes pride in providing excellent customer service and guidance for his colleague’s at Gunlake.

Here at Gunlake, we are committed to safeguarding the health and safety of our employees, customers, contractors and partners, and we are constantly monitoring the evolving COVID-19 situation.

We pride ourselves on always providing our customers with a high-level of service, and we have implemented wide-ranging safety measures to ensure we limit the spread of COVID-19. Gunlake is adopting Government policy relating to self-isolation, social distancing and travel restrictions. We have also implemented the following steps to minimise the spread of COVID-19 and maintain the safety of our customers and staff:

  1. We have increased across all our sites the availability of hygiene products, we are regularly cleaning and disinfecting our plants and trucks, and our team are constantly being educated on the current Government hygiene advice.

  2. We have strict protocols in place for all our delivery drivers to implement social distancing protocols to limit contact with customers and colleagues.

  3. We have limited the access to all our sites to relevant production personnel only.

  4. All our employees have been notified to self-report any symptoms and to self-isolate when required, in keeping with the current Government advice.

In these challenging times, Gunlake will continue to monitor and respond whenever necessary to this evolving situation. We will ensure to communicate with our customers, contractors and staff members how we are managing the situation, as circumstances change, as we strive to ensure the wellbeing of our customers, employees and our business as a whole.
